About Me
Hi! My name is Christine Xi Gong. I’m an MFA candidate in Film & Television Production at USC School of Cinematic Arts, and I work primarily as an editor across both fiction and documentary.
With a background as a writer-director, I approach editing as storytelling, not just assembly. I’m attentive to structure, character beats, and emotional clarity, and I enjoy helping directors find the strongest version of the story already inside the footage. I can step back and think like a filmmaker, then zoom in and execute with precision in the cut.
I’m collaborative, detail-oriented, and calm under deadlines. I value clear communication and trust in the edit room, and I aim to strengthen a director’s vision while offering thoughtful, story-driven solutions. Beyond traditional workflows, I also experiment with animation as another tool for shaping narrative, memory, and dream.
