Take Back the Faith

Take Back the Faith is the third episode of USC’s first thesis documentary series, Still Here Still Queer. The film follows a gay pastor at Metropolitan Community Church Los Angeles as he leads a community built for those once pushed out of religion, while wrestling privately with what faith has meant in his own life. Through sermons, daily moments, and intimate reflection, the episode explores his complex relationship with God—how it has wounded him, sustained him, and how he is learning to claim it back without erasing who he is.
